The left door fit was unusually poor. The belt had a 1/4" gap at the center. The photo shows the edge built up with weld, filing and fitting, and finally bead blasted after final dressing inside and out.

 

The door opening had been badly damaged and filled with brass. The only way to properly repair was to replace the damaged section. The patch was from a destroyed quarter, but needed considerable repair before it could be used. Fortunately, when it was finally welded into place and dressed it required no additional fillers.

 

 

Everything was pre fitted (several times!) with the body bolted to the frame. The original floor pans required a few patches and considerable shrinking of stretched/damaged metal. Here they are all being checked for fit since they were to be riveted back into place AFTER final painting.
